How often have you seen/experienced the higher self in another (or even yourself) only later to discover the work it's going to take to have that 'higher self' show up every day, rather than rare moments.
Many rush into spiritual, metaphysical, or ecstatic, shamanic experience too quickly, while others feel deaden from the over materialistic world. Here Krishna, representing the Higher Self (the Universal Mind, the Christos, 2nd person of Solar Logos, the Hermes) reveals his true identity which 'blows Arjuna's mind' , so to speak. Some folks have a big vision or spiritual experience and spend the rest of their life unfolding such higher truths. Some folks prematurely have too big a Spirit experience, perhaps through drugs, drink, meds, over excitement and crash into depression or freak out. Seeing the true self in one and all can be a grace and healing.. The Gita gives every kind of remedy and spiritual medicine (virtue mind training) for our myriad and diverse earthly experience.
