X-59 Cockpit Begins to Look Like a Cockpit
Technicians at Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works factory in Palmdale, California examine the cockpit section of NASA’s X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology research airplane. In this view the camera is looking toward the rear of the aircraft. The yellow-green metal are the wing’s internal structural ribs, while the gray metal in the foreground marks the cockpit’s interior. An ejection seat from a retired NASA T-38 training jet will eventually be installed in the cockpit along with the airplane’s avionics – including the eXternal Vision System. Lockheed Martin is assembling the experimental aircraft for NASA in anticipation of its first flight some time in mid-2022. Designed to produce quiet sonic “thumps” when flying supersonic, the X-59 will be flown over select communities to measure public perception of the sound. Results will be given to regulators to use in determining new rules that could allow commercial faster-than-sound air travel over land.

This image captures a moment from a computational fluid dynamics simulation of the X-59 aircraft concept during supersonic flight. Visualizations like this help researchers determine which surface features of the aircraft are generating shockwaves, which contribute to the sonic boom noise below the aircraft. The colors shown on the aircraft indicate surface pressure, with lower pressures in blue and higher pressures in red. The colors shown in the airspace surrounding the aircraft indicate airflow velocity, ranging from blue, indicating zero velocity to higher velocities in red. All X-59 simulations completed by the Ames team have been performed on the Pleiades supercomputer at the NASA Advanced Supercomputing facility.

Fernando Morris
Fernando D. Morris (Morris) was initially inspired by a small book titled Ether-Technology in 1980 that contained a chapter about John R.R. Searl (Searl) and his revolutionary technology. This influenced Morris interest into the electrical field as a job career and personal interest in technology research for the rest of his life. In 1995, Morris joined the effort as USA effort and began experimenting with the electrical aspects related to the SEG concept for eight years and cost was out of pocket. However, Morris developed three prototype magnetizers that successfully produced magnetic waveforms. In 2003, Searl experienced major fallout with his UK groups that left him without any support. At that point, Morris made the decision to make direct contact for the first time with Searl which rescued him from dire living conditions at that time. Henceforth, together they began rebuilding the prospects of making the SEG a reality. In 2008, after 5 years of commitment in clearing up the internet of misinformation and skepticism about Searl, Morris resigned from his IBM career for the SEG development opportunity in Thailand. In 2010, Morris gained enough experience to proceeded in setting up a company as a research center based in California. This represents over 20 years of Morris involvement and investigations into the technical merits of the SEG concept. Now with years of experience in corporate management and project development, Morris is leading the SEG business venture with shear determination and steadfast commitment for the project, its shareholder and
ultimately for the benefit of humanity.
